United Entertainment Corp. (UEC) is pleased to announce the acquisition of Diamond Cinemas located in Lake Elsinore, CA. The eight-screen all stadium theatre will be the Company’s first in California. The theatre will be operating under the name of Diamond 8 Cinemas.
The transaction was completed on June 25th. UEC Theatres now operates 110 screens at 12 locations in seven states.
UEC plans to immediately add Digital 3D technology to the location. This technology is tentatively scheduled to be ready for the August 28th opening of The Final Destination in 3D.
Digital 3D uses a digital cinema projector to switch images and color schemes between the right and left eye. Thus creating a 3D image that is superior to the traditional 35mm 3D version. The XpanD 3D system uses stereoscopic active technology, a highly sophisticated infrared 3D delivery system, which is the base product of many developing 3D platforms.
UEC plans on adding two additional all stadium auditoriums within the next year. This will bring the total number of screens to 10.
In addition, UEC plans on making minor improvements to the facility enhancing patrons’ movie going experience. Some of these features include online ticketing and improved amenities.
UEC Theatres owns and operates a chain of video stores and movie theatres throughout the United States. The Company mission is to provide high quality entertainment at reasonable prices to the markets we serve. UEC takes pride in bringing the magic of the movies to communities.
